Sharon Giles

Sharon Giles’ goal is to help clients to reshape and rebuild their lives beyond a breakup and preserve relationships for the long term. She encourages all of her clients to look beyond their present situation, often marked by strong emotions, to visualise an alternative future and then make informed and realistic decisions to shape it.

She actively promotes the long term benefits of constructive communication and negotiation methods and works collaboratively with other professionals, such as financial and mental health counsellors, to assist clients in resolving specific concerns.

Divorce can cause great disruption in an individual’s life and busy professionals and business owners, in particular, appreciate Sharon’s “no nonsense can do attitude” (Legal 500). Her organised and reassuring demeanour helps client to focus on important personal issues and make sound decisions, whilst continuing with their own professional lives

For many, divorce involves a journey from dependence to independence and Sharon’s clients value her positive and practical approach in guiding them along this path.

Sharon takes care to keep the whole family unit in mind as she strives to create a balanced solution for clients, making best use of the resources available for sharing. When children are involved, Sharon encourages couples to agree family continuity across the two households and support each other as parents.

Overall Sharon’s commitment to minimising conflict allows clients to maintain dignity and respect at a very difficult time of life and move forward with confidence.

Away from the office, Sharon loves spending time with her family, the great outdoors and enjoys exploring new cultures and cuisines.

“Selecting Sharon Giles at Sharp Family Law to represent me during my separation and divorce was the best decision I made – I felt totally overwhelmed by the whole process and out of my depth.  Sharon took the worry away and made it a whole lot easier.  Right from the very start I felt comfortable and at ease while safe in the knowledge that she was very experienced and professional.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Sharon – she was brilliant. “
